Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
