Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
