The under-pressure manager stated he had no concerns about losing his job, maintaining, “The team is very near to things turning around,” even after edging perilously close to the chopping block with a comprehensive defeat by the Ibrox side.
A Second-Half Meltdown Results in Old Firm Loss

“The outcomes [that leads to pressure]. And that’s the reality for the moment. Yet when I say that’s how it is, that is not a sign that I am giving up. Not at all. The message is we are on the cusp, really, really close to reverse our form.”
Focus on the Details
He remains focused on the fact his team can perform strongly for one half at a time. In fact, were it not for wastefulness in front of goal they might have been more than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit aside from the fact that we haven’t scored more goals,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but it's important to stay balanced.
“The standard we had at times was really, really, really high. This is the reality. And I would not talk like that if it was different. But that’s why, when it comes to wins, I mentioned it's a repeating pattern. That’s why I feel a change is coming to getting it right. Right now: small things.”
“I saw plenty of positives that we did, like today again. The issue now is sustaining it. My message would be different if I didn't believe it. Therefore I firmly believe we’re going to be able to fix this.”
Opposition Reaction Stance
The victorious boss played down talk of a title charge in spite of what felt like a statement victory. “One match at a time, then we can develop something here,” he said. “The confidence in the team is immense.”
